Phone Systems / VoIP
Problem When a growing insurance claims processing company moved to a new
location, the company required a new phone
system. The company needed a solution that
could integrate effectively with its five nationwide
locations connected by a frame relay data network.
How URS Helped URS recommended that the company take advantage
of the cost savings of VoIP technology. By
leveraging the company's existing network infrastructure,
URS developed and implemented a VoIP solution
that eliminated toll charges among all five
office locations. Nationwide, all internal
calls are now made by dialing a four-digit
extension.
In addition to the cost savings realized through
VoIP, the company also developed a unified
messaging platform, converging voice and electronic
mail into one system. Employees are now able
to listen to voice messages on their PCs as
well as forward and store voice mail within
the existing email system.
